Sending Happiness

Hi everyone! The weather has been gorgeous for the past few weeks, not at all 'Winter-like' which we are all enjoying. I hope your weather has been good to you too and you had a fantastic weekend doing things you love.

 

I've got a sweet card for you today which I thought of while out walking my dog Bella last week. I tend to daydream and work things out as I wander along and its my best place for thinking of new card designs. I wasn't sure if this one would work but I'm over the moon with the result:

 

 

Isn't he a cutie?!! This was all put together using dies from the Huggable Critters Die Set. I used an oval die and cut it in half for the ears. The head is made by using the body die but turning it upside down. I then used a cup to help make a curved line to cut out his chin.

 

The black of the eyes is a smaller oval die. His body is made with the body die used up the right way and his white tummy is the body die again but turned upside down. I used Gina K Connect Glue to stick this all together as it gives you a chance to move things around before it dries. I put the Panda on some white foam and adhered to his bright yellow background. And in keeping the simple look I stamped the sentiment from  Casual Comfort  in black on a strip of white cardstock. I also added some Wink of Stella to his pink cheeks.

 

You know I love finding different ways to use products and even though the Huggable Critters Die Set  is a little more pricey, it has so many pieces and I still haven't run out of new ideas on how to use it. Think I might need glasses.......

Hi there everyone and thanks for stopping by!! Hopefully you'll have a chance to do some crafting this weekend and maybe my card will give you a few ideas...

Unfortunately I STILL haven't received my parcel of the New Release products but I do have one of the birthday stamp sets that came out in April and one of the sentiments inspired this card:

 

I really hope you can see these are eyes and not lots of little pairs of slippers!! I just love this sentiment from the 'Happy Birthday' stamp set and used that as the theme for this card.

I started off by gathering a rainbow of cardstock and die-cutting the 'eyes' using this die from the Huggable Critters Set. I also die-cut some eyelashes using black cardstock.

 

 I used the largest Bubble-Box Fri-Dies with some white cardstock and used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment in the middle with Versafine Onyx ink.

 

Next came the time-consuming part (which you know I love...) where I glued all the pairs of eyes around the sentiment, having some of them hanging off the side and giving some of them some fabulous eyelashes. I then cut off any excess over the edges.

I cut a panel of black cardstock and adhered it to the card front. The 'eyes' panel was popped up on a piece of black foam and I finished off by gluing on a few coloured pearls from Studio Katia.

I just love finding ways to stretch out my dies and so happy to find another use for the Huggable Critters set!! This might give you some ideas on how to use your own dies in different ways and if your thinking you might have to get your hands on the products I used today, don't forget to use my special code to save yourself some money.

Hi There Hop Stuff!

Hi there!  Lisa here and I'm sharing another shaker similar to one I made for the Crafting of Hue Sponsorship Weekend so I could show you how I made this shaker using the paw die from the Huggable Critters die set!

I started by cutting the Bubble Box layer using the 2nd largest die in the set.  I taped it in place and then took the paw die from the Huggable Critters set and taped it in the bottom left corner so I could run them through together and avoid an extra run through the Gemini.  Then I took that piece and taped the paw die in place again and ran it through.  Then one more time so the paws were hopping across the bubblebox.  Once all three paws were cut out, I ran the entire thing through with a floral embossing folder.

Next I adhered acetate over the back of the die cut paws and added foam tape to create a well around the area I wanted to place my sequins and then additional tape to provide support for the Bubble Box layer.  I filled the well with sequins... using my fine tweezers to flip them over so when the shaker was right side up, most of the sequins would be too!

And finally I placed the design paper that I wanted to show through the shaker windows over the back.  I added adhesive to that and flipped the whole shaker element over onto my card front.

To finish it off, I used this cutie pie bunny from the Little Huggables set that I colored with my Copics.

And I added this cute sentiment also from the Little Huggables set... love all of the punny sentiments on this set!

A few sequins and done!

Cute Animal Tags!!

Hi there and I'm so glad you stopped by!! Its nearly the weekend and I hope you have plans to squeeze in some crafting time. And maybe my project today will give you a few ideas to play around with.

My last card on this blog used the Huggable Critters Set. I had lots of leftover pieces and playing with the dies left me with so many other ideas, I just had to try them out. So I'm sharing with you today some fun tags:

There are so many different shapes in the Huggable Critters Set  and I don't think I'll ever run out of ways to use them. And I didn't even use any stamps for this project either!!

I teamed the animals with the To Go Cup Fri-dies as they are such a perfect size to create a face and they also make such great tags with a lot of room behind them for messages. To find out exactly how I created this cat and dog, pop over to my blog!!

I Ruff You!

Lisa here!  I knew I wanted to create a Valentine for today and my first thought was flowers and then I remembered the adorable Huggable Critters Fri-Dies!

I was in the mood for this pup!  And I love him in Black and White so I made him spotted!  I cut one body piece in white and one in black and handcut some spots out of the black one to add spots to the edges of his body.

And I thought it would be so cute for my Valentine to be carrying a Valentine!  I cut the Heart Board Fri-Die out of red glitter paper and plain white cardstock and then alternated the little heart frames back together.  And of course he'd have a puppy Valentine with a cute little Punny sentiment from the Little Huggables stamp set.

So there you have it... a Valentine with a Valentine... I wonder if that little pup Valentine is carrying a littler pup Valentine??

A Simple Birthday Card from a Sketch

Hello everyone!! Happy Thursday!! Nora here from A Creative Touch with a simple birthday card I created by looking at my supplies in a different way.

Stamps: Little Huggables, Huggable Critters Set

Fri-Dies: Huggable Critters Set

Stencils: Curtis Stencil

I started out the design for this card from a sketch that I created. I most often start in my head with an actual design idea and go from there. On the sketch below, I knew I wanted to use a stencil in the center, surrounded by two square frames die cut from scraps.

I decided that I wanted to make this a birthday card and thought three balloons would look great in the center. I looked at my CAS-Fridays Fri-dies and found that one set of ovals from the Huggable Critters Set was the perfect size for the design of my card. 

I die cut the oval from white cardstock and then used Distress Inks to blend color onto each one. 

After blending, I adhered some twine onto the back of each one. I added glue to the twine and straightened it out, letting it dry. 

While the twine was drying, I used the Curtis Stencil and the same three Distress Inks on my card front, only selecting a small portion for the blend.

Next I adhered the frames over the stenciled area on the card front.

I took the balloons and used foam adhesive to adhere them to the card. This gives them a bit of dimension and adds interest to a simple card design.

I then stamped a sentiment from the Little Huggables Stamp set. I altered the "Hoppy Birthday" to say "Happy Birthday." You can make small changes like this to get more use of your stamps.

My last step was to adhere the sentiment to the card front using foam adhesive and add some bows underneath the balloons.

Somebunny Told Me - Huggable Critters

Lisa here and today I'm sharing with you a card I made using the Huggable Critters Fri-dies and a punny sentiment from the Somebunny Stamp Set!  I wanted this to have a kind of sewn stuffed animal feel so I used some pretty coordinating patterns and along with the stitching on the Fri-dies, I love the way it turned out!

There are SO many options with this die set!  You can create all different kinds of expressions and faces... with four different ear shapes and a few eye, mouth and nose combos, two different paws and three different tails.  I trimmed down the bunny ear and attached the puppy ear to create the look of one of his ears being turned down.  And I love to use foam tape to create depth on these... I think it makes such a difference.  I also trimmed down just the inside two of the bunny ears to create a lighter inside ear color.  I added a flower by cutting two of the smallest Four Petals shapes and layering them and used Nuvo drops for the center.

And this sentiment from the Somebunny stamp set was perfect!  A sweet birthday card for a sweet little girl!  And I kinda want a stuffed bunny like this now!

Sweet, right??  I love how these critters can hold a gift card... a sign... some flowers... anything!

Ruff Day? Drink Coffee!!

Right, time to have a look at my card! As usual I wanted to create something a little different and thought a bit of cuteness would be perfect:

 

I tell you, the Huggable Critters set is so versatile and definitely worth the price. I've used it for so many different types of cards and still have lots of ideas left on how to use it!

To start off I die-cut the ears, eyes and nose from black cardstock. I also used the Coffee Cup Fri-dies to cut two cups from white CS. I glued the two cups together and used a brown Altenew Artist Marker to colour one of the coffee cup 'inside' circles.

I glued the ears behind the cup which gave me somewhere to inlay the brown coffee 'inside' piece. I glued on the eyes and nose and then used a black Altenew Artist Marker to draw some black spots in random places. I wasn't sure what to do about the eyes and drew on some white gel pen to see if Nuvo White Crystal drops would work but decided to try something else instead....

 
 Since this was more of a fun, cutesy card I decided to glue on some googly eyes for my doggie. For the background I used my MISTI and one of the paws from the 'Huggable Critters' stamp set with Altenew 'Dark Chocolate' ink. I love how the paws have a 'heart' in the middle.

The top sentiment (from Nate and Friday) was stamped in black on white cardstock, backed with some black cardstock and put on foam tape. The bottom sentiment was a little trickier.....The 'drink coffee' is part of a sentiment from the Hot Coffee stamp set. I used washi tape to cover the other words, stamped in black ink and removed the washi before stamping on white cardstock. To finish the card I glued on some black half pearls.

I hope this has given you some new ideas for your 'coffee' cards and that you have had a chance to make some coffee cards of your own for the hop. There are so many prizes to be won, its fantastic how much support Amy gets for this event.
