Fall Card

Hello my crafty peeps!  Who else is excited for fall?  I am so over this heat and I can't wait until the weather cools off for a bit.

For my card today, I am showcasing the Casual Comfort stamp set and Casual Trees fri-dies along with the Sweet Friend fri-dies and a retired A2 Tin Roof cover plate.

I started by embossing my background panel using the Tin Roof cover plate die.  I did this to create some subtle texture to my background.  I adhered this panel on an A-2 size card base.

Next, I die-cut the branches using the casual trees fri-dies a few times.  I placed the negative back in my Misti stamping tool and position the positive die-cuts and stamped the images.

I die-cut the bow using a die from my collection and adhered them all together with liquid glue.

I adhered the focal image onto my card with liquid glue, and added the "hello" die-cut from the Sweet Friend fri-dies.   Here's another look:

Sending Happiness

Hi everyone! The weather has been gorgeous for the past few weeks, not at all 'Winter-like' which we are all enjoying. I hope your weather has been good to you too and you had a fantastic weekend doing things you love.

I've got a sweet card for you today which I thought of while out walking my dog Bella last week. I tend to daydream and work things out as I wander along and its my best place for thinking of new card designs. I wasn't sure if this one would work but I'm over the moon with the result:

Isn't he a cutie?!! This was all put together using dies from the Huggable Critters Die Set. I used an oval die and cut it in half for the ears. The head is made by using the body die but turning it upside down. I then used a cup to help make a curved line to cut out his chin.

The black of the eyes is a smaller oval die. His body is made with the body die used up the right way and his white tummy is the body die again but turned upside down. I used Gina K Connect Glue to stick this all together as it gives you a chance to move things around before it dries. I put the Panda on some white foam and adhered to his bright yellow background. And in keeping the simple look I stamped the sentiment from  Casual Comfort  in black on a strip of white cardstock. I also added some Wink of Stella to his pink cheeks.

You know I love finding different ways to use products and even though the Huggable Critters Die Set  is a little more pricey, it has so many pieces and I still haven't run out of new ideas on how to use it. And also if you use my special code you can save yourself 15% on any product you purchase!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you get a chance this week to do some crafting and maybe find new uses for your own stamps and dies.

Take care
Shona

Happy Saturday everyone!! It is Nora here from A Creative Touch on the blog today with three simple Sympathy Cards and ideas on how to fix your "mistakes" on projects rather than throw
them away.

For these cards I used the Modern Petals Stencils, the Casual Comfort stamp set, the Garden and Fun-Fetti Fri-dies

I began each card by masking a circle in the center of a piece of white cardstock and blending three colors of Distress ink-the lightest on top and the darkest on the bottom.

I then used the Modern Petals Stencil with the same inks and stenciled over the ink blended circle.

I used a sentiment from the Casual Comfort stamp set to stamp directly over the top of the blended circle. Here was where my first mistake happened. I messed up and got a bit of black which was on my finger onto the card front. It was in the Distressed area and so I could not pull the color off with anything without affecting it. My solution? Using some Fun-Fetti Flowers and placing them over my mistake.

I then added some Stickles in the middle of the flowers to give it some bling.

Can you see where I messed up? Nope!! The flowers covered the smudge up.

For my second card, I was going to make another of the same colored card front. However, I messed up the sentiment, getting my sleeve caught on something and it stamped crooked. I was so mad!!! Instead of throwing the whole piece away, I die cut the circle out this time and mounted against a pattern paper background.

While I was mounting the sentiment, I dropped some glue onto the blended part and it smeared. Again, instead of tossing the whole thing, I made the best of it. I added some leaves from the Garden Fri-dies to hide the mistake.

To finish my project I added some clear shimmer pen on top. Crisis number three averted!!

I was determined to get ONE card right, to just make one of these cards completely one layer but I was thwarted again. I used purple ink to blend with this time. All was going well until I noticed a purple smudge on the the left edge of the blended card front. Purple ink was on the tape I used to hold the paper down..

Once again, I die cut the circle out and mounted it onto a clean, white die cut panel that was adhered to an A2 card base. I then heat embossed the sentiment in white on black cardstock. I adhered the sentiments on top of the circle using foam adhesive.

My last step was to add some Fun-Fetti Flowers around the sentiment just to spruce it up.

I hope this helps you to think of ways to "fix" any "mistakes" you might make on your projects. When you work on something for  a long time, throwing it away is just not an option!! Three cards would have been tossed if I had given up and I don't have time for that.

Sending Prayers

Our blog is pink and we're sharing awesome BCA creations all month long!
My hope is that you'll be inspired to create and reminded to get your mammogram scheduled if you are due.
Today Vicki got inky with our Word Ribbon and Ruffled Ribbon Fri-Die from the Calling All Sistahs collection.  I love the variation of color she used to make that ribbon pop to life. The addition of the sentiment from Casual Comfort is a comforting finish.

For the entire month of October, I will be donating 75% of the profits from my Calling All Sistahs collection to nationalbreastcancer.org to support their early detection, education and support services.
http://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/

I hope you'll help us spread awareness this month. Please pin our projects or feel free to share them in social media. Early detection is critical and it all starts with awareness! Remind the women in your life to schedule their mammograms this month if they are due. You matter! Pass it on.

I hope you find some time to get your ink on today :)

Happy Sunday!

Wait til you see the awesome card Shona has created for you today using Casual Comfort stamps and Smiling Fri-Dies!

"I heat embossed the branch image from 'Casual Comfort' in white around the outside of the card front. I then blended a 'rainbow' of Distress Inks, using one over each branch and then blending together. The 'Smile' was die-cut 3x from black cardstock, glued together and then covered with lots of Glossy Accents. A rainbow always makes me smile!! "

Our $7.77 sale continues on our Retiring stamp and die sets!

Layered Stamping Sympathy Card

Happy Monday!

Maureen has a beautiful sympathy card today.
These are hard to make I think we can all agree.
What I especially like about this one is that I think you could have a few of the card bases made up ahead of time, something that would actually be fun to create and do, and then add whatever sentiment you want later.

She sponged color and faded it out then layered her stamped images. It's simple and pretty and fun to do! I think the butterfly from Be works really well with the pretty branches from Casual Comfort.

She finished it off with a white embossed sentiment from Casual Comfort. There are lots of wonderful words in this set to pair together to create not only sympathy but also encouragement cards. By having some pretty card bases pre-made, you can add the appropriate sentiment when you need it and have a beautiful card to send in a snap.

I hope you find some time to get your ink on today :)

November 27

Happy Friday!

While many of you are scoping out Black Friday deals and anticipating Cyber Monday deals,
I am still feeling both full and thankful from Thanksgiving.
I've got a LOT to be thankful for this year!!
So instead of midnight line standing, doorbusters, and last minute savings,
I am spreading hope :)
and I'm doing it all weekend long.

Girl Friday Archana created one of the prettiest cards I've seen using
Mon Ami, Autumn Blessings, Casual Comfort, Mon Ami Fleur Fri-Dies,Acorn Fri-Dies, Casual Trees Fri-Dies and our retiring Mums the Word.

This card makes me all sorts of happy.
It's positively gorgeous!!

Look how beautifully they all layer together!

However you choose to spend this weekend,
I "hope" you enjoy yourself :)
