Galentine's Day Card

Hello my crafty friends.  Maria on the blog today.  I know by the time my post goes live, Valentine's Day would have already passed.  However, I've made this card for a girlfriend who needs a little cheering.  For my card today, I am showcasing the Supercalifragistic stamp set with the Garden Fri-Dies.

Heres how I made the card:

  • Ink up a Bristol smooth white card stock using Squeezed Lemonade and Worn Lipstick distress oxide inks.

  • Spray water all over the inked up background with the distress sprayer. Use paper towel to dab it dry.
  • Use hearts stencil to add more texture to the background with the same distress oxide inks for a seamless look.
  • Stamp the sentiment using the Supercalifragilistic stamp set. (I LOVE THIS STAMP SET!)

  • Die cut the window using a die from my (or you can use sticker if you don't have this die) and add the "ice cubes" and sequin mixes in the pouch.
  • Adhere the other die-cut elements to the colored background.
  • To finish the design, die cut the "LIME" on green card stock using the Garden Fri-Dies and adhered on top of the margarita glass using liquid glue.

I think adding the "lime" on the margarita glass using the Garden Fri-Dies just added a cute touch to the whole card design.   Here's a closer look:

I don't know about you but looking at this card makes me want to go out with my girlfriends and guzzle down some margaritas on the rocks, don't you?  The Supercalifragilistic stamp set is a must-have for any stamper!  Here's another look:

I hope you like my card today.  Please don't forget to use the coupon code "MARIASENTME" for 15% off your order at the shop.  Have an amazing day!

Shenanigans: 1 panel, many looks!

Happy Tuesday!

I don't think there is a person on the planet who wouldn't like to receive a b-day card with a sentiment like this one...

Wanna see a whole bunch of  awesome things this sentiment panel can do? Hold on to your socks!!!
Kelly made a dozen of these sentiment panels, and then paired them up with patterned papers and embellishments to create a set of a dozen birthday cards.
The sentiment panel uses Shenanigans, Calm and Gentle, Mon Ami.
She added more awesome sets to this cool panel to vary the look for the type so you'll get to see lots of CAS-ual Fridays goodness in this post! Buckle up peeps, here we go!

Have you seen our Lovely Links Fri-Dies? It is so pretty, lovely really, and one of the fun facts about it is that it cuts out more than a dozen little hearts to use on other projects all in one cut! Isn't that lovely?!

A little striped paper, a little strip of glitter, a lot of look in a simple but super fun card!

You don't always have to put the cute sentiment panel at the bottom, put some fun paper on the card base, add a few fun elements and stick that bad boy at the top!

Ok, now that paper is just darned cute! I love how she handwrote the amazing into the crossword puzzle :)

This one might be my favorite! I love the cute leaves from Acorn Fri-Dies strung onto the Linked Fri-Dies cut. So fun!!

Oh...but I really love this one too! I am a sucker for a pretty ribbon tied onto a card!

There is that Lovely Links Fri-Die again! This time she added darling die cuts from Posies and Friendly Flowers Fri-Dies and stamped them with Pretty Posies and Girlfriend, and then added a glitter paper die cut from Casual Trees Fri-Dies. (Don't tell the other cards, but I think this one might actually be my fav!)

Um, ya...this is super cute too! I love that she took a big ol star from Stars Fri-Dies and stamped it with Twinkle. Cute!!

another cute but simple card using Linked Fri-Dies and a fun pattern paper!

Friendly Flowers on Flurry Fri-Dies? Yes Please!!!!

So as you can see, there are all kinds of Shenanigans you can create for birthday fun using one great sentiment panel and then challenging yourself to use some fun papers that you've been hoarding, oops! I mean saving for the perfect project!

How many birthday cards do you have in your card stash right now? Probably not enough, LOL!

I hope you find some time to get your ink on today :)

September 26

Happy Sunday!

Wow!
I had an incredible weekend in Greenwood Village, CO
at the Stamp & Scrap Papercrafts Expo!
I met some of the nicest cardmakers and scrapbookers
and we really had a great time.
A special thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth
and took some CAS-ual Fridays home with them :)

Girl Friday Lydia
has cooked up a fantastical card for you today.

She used Friend Fri-Dies with a sentiment from Girlfriend
and a very cool die cutting technique

She combined positive and negative die cuts!
I love that she cut the word from a circle and let the negative be.
Then she added the positive bits to start and finish the word.
Awesome!!

Love this to pieces!

Girl Friday Diane got inky with a whole lot of our floral sets
and I just love how it looks!

That great big Wonderful Words sentiment
matched up with flowers from Wonderful Words,
Loving Thoughts, Girlfriend and Casual Comfort.

Gosh this would be a great card for birthdays, graduation, engagement...I could go on and on.
Love it!

Day 2 of the Girlfriend Collection Release

Welcome to Day 2 of the Girlfriend Collection Release!

Yesterday we brought you amazing eye candy,
the backstory on this amazing collection,
a chance to win it
and the promise that we'd be back again today with more!

Let's get to it, shall we?
The Girl Fridays totally knocked my socks off with today's creations.
Their use of color, technique and downright creative die usage is incredible!

Angie stamped Curtis Background and then trimmed it into strips to get a fun random panel for her Friend die cut.

I'm loving the white embossed Curtis Background stamped on the Scallop Tag Fri-Dies. Then, Archana inlaid some of the flowers from Friendly Flowers for extra POW power.

Jingle has a few Friendly Flowers stems used in a fun graphic way, and she trimmed the bottoms of one of the tags to get a cool border too!
Joanna blew me away with the fabulous negative die cut pattern she created using Friendly Flowers.

Julia got creative and turned one of the Tag Buddies upside down to create a tulip!
The Sassy Smile stamp is a fabulous companion to this awesome new collection!

Kelly created a flower by using Friend as a stem, and cutting her cute petals using our Pinecone Fri-Die!

This card makes me so happy seeing a big ol' Curtis Background drizzled up in color and white embossed. Love!

Ohmygawsh!
There are so many things I want to try now!

Somebody is going to win this collection valued at $84
and today is your second chance at being that lucky somebody!

Day 1 of the Girlfriend Collection Release

Welcome to the release of the Girlfriend Collection!!

This release has been a loooong time coming
and I am soooo excited to finally bring it to you!

Many of you have been waiting for these stamps and dies since you first saw them
in the inaugural edition of Catherine Pooler's Stamp of Approval Box about 6 months ago.

The wait is nearly over!!

Today and tomorrow,
the Girl Fridays will show you how much fun these stamps and dies are to play with,
I'll give you some of the backstory on the collection
and then on Wednesday,
I'll press the magic button and release them on the website :)

These stamps and dies are really fun and work so well together.
Let's see some eye candy!

Kelly simply stamped the Tag Buddy.
I love the little border strip of Curtis Background!

Gosh I love how she used Friendly Flower Fri-Dies to create that fabulous bloom!
And the stamped blooms in the background peeking over the Love Ya strip are too cute!

Archana used the stamps and dies together to create this darling card.
I really like how she offset the panel and added stitching.

Love the bottom border Jingle created!
Curtis Background is a big stamp but you don't always have to use all of it :)

Joanna's got a video on her blog to show you how she created this sparkly Friend card!

Angie curved the sentiments to give a fun motion and I adore how she layered 2 of the tags!

And this one from Julia makes me smile really big.
I love the little trail of dots and gems she cascaded across the panel
and the fun striped die cut. Awesome!

See what I mean?!
I just love this collection and I think it might be one of my most favorite that I've ever done!
So what you may or may not know
is that I designed this collection with Catherine in mind.
She and her friendship were my inspiration.
She happened to be here in Denver filming for Craftsy and we met for dinner.
It was our first real life meeting and it was like we were old friends just picking up where we'd last left off. She told me about her idea for her SOA box and I thought it sounded amazing.
(I was right, her Stamp of Approval boxes are absolutely off the chain!)
That night I went home and
I thought about the things we talked about
and my creative wheels began to spin.
The very next morning I texted her a screenshot of the Girlfriend stamps
which was inspired by her website logo.
Girlfriend  4 x 6 stamp set  $15.00

And then later that next day, she posted a picture of a pattern she fell in love with at the Curtis Hotel
on a pillow or a curtain or something,
and I took one look at it and said "that's my logo deconstructed!"
It took me about 4 minutes to create Curtis Background.
Curtis Background  $15.00

2 stamp sets in 2 days!
I will tell you that is my personal creative record as it usually takes me about 2 weeks or longer to design a single set.

and then Catherine asked...can you do some dies to go with?
My response? But of course!

I love dies that can be used completely independent of the stamps so
I created the Friend and Love Ya dies to do just that.
They of course coordinate with the Girlfriend stamps but you'll find that you can use them with so many other things in your stash too.

                                    Friend Fri-Die $9.50                               Love Ya Fri-Die  $9.50

The Friendly Flower Fri-Dies follows the same concept.
You can certainly use them to just create an outline of a stamped image
or you can really have some fun and use the individual components to mix and match
into your own beautiful blooms.
It's a 6 die set that will cut 7 images

Friendly Flowers Fri-Dies  $15.00

and last but not least, Tag Buddies because tags are just plain fun!
3 great tag shapes that you'll be able to use with anything
and for anything!!

Tag Buddies  $20.00

I appreciate you all spending time here with me during my release week
so one of you is going to win this collection valued at $84
and you'll have 2 chances to be that lucky somebody!!
