I started by creating a Stenciled Background using the Modern Petals Stencil with some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink onto a Tag Buddies Fir-Dies Set!! Then I added some Water Droplets for texture and then I Stamped and Embossed the Image onto some Patterned Paper for some FUN Texture!! I colored it in with Copic Markers!!
(I used Raccoon: N0, N2, N4 & N6  R00) I Stamped and Embossed the Heart Image and used R46 & R89 for the Heart then added some Morning Dew Nuvo Drops for some Dimension, then added it to the Raccoon!!
I added some Black Gel Pen to his Nose and Eyes, along with some White Gel Pen details for highlights!! I Stamped and Embossed the Sentiment in WoW White Embossing Powder onto a Black Banner and then adhered it using 3D Foam Squares!! I adhered it to a Gift Bag using a Mini Clothespin and added the Red Seam Binding Ribbon along with a Gina K Designs Gingham Ribbon!!

Missing You in Rainbow Style!!

Hello Crafty Friends!!
Larissa here today to share an FUN Rainbow Missing You Card!! I'm using the BEAUTIFUL Tin Roof Stencil along with the NEW Little Huggables Stamp Set and coordinating Little Critters Fri-Dies!! I used the Missing You Sentiment from the Bushy Tailed Stamp Set!! I just LOVE the Design of this card and it would be SO FUN to make a set of these and use different sentiments, so you have them ready when you need them!!
For the Stenciled backgroound, I started by mixing together Therm O Web White Pearl Metallix Gel with all of the Colors of Glitz Glitter Gel in order to create my Rainbow mix!! Then I used a Therm O Web Stencil Pal and placed a small amount of each Color onto the edge creating the Rainbow!! I placed my Tin Roof Stencil over my Paper and pressed the gel onto the stencil!! I removed the Stencil and set it aside to dry!! SWOON!! I just LOVE the results!!

I colored the Sweet Bear using Copic Markers and then added some White Gel Pen Freckles!! I added a Glitter Heart and a Small Bow to finish off the SWEET Bear!! Then I Stamped the Sentiment in Rainbow Colors around the Circle background to tie in the Rainbow theme I was going for!! You could easily switch out sentiment here in order to create any occasion card you needed!!

THANKS SO MUCH for stopping by today!!
 Have a FABULOUS WEEK!!

Full On Floral Eclipse

Lisa here and today I'm sharing with you a card using an Eclipse technique.  If you're not familiar, the Hello in my card is what we're talking about.  It's a raised area that could be a Word like in today's card or a shape or anything really that almost seems to raise out of the background... visible, but you can sometimes almost miss it... almost ghost-like.

Here's how I made mine:

I started by stamping the Full On Floral background stamp onto some mixed media paper in Versamark and heat embossed it in gold.

Next I used Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxides and blended them over the embossed image.  When I was done blending the inks, I wiped over the top of the image with a dry paper towel to remove the ink from the top of the gold to let the shine through again.

I splattered some water and Gold Color Shine over the top and when it was dry, I die cut the Hello die from the Sweet Friend Dies from the center of the embossed panel (you would want to cut this from whatever area you wanted to add your eclipse to because the negative space will be where you place it.  (Note: Be sure to save those little pieces from the middle of your O's, E's, L's.. you get the idea... because you'll need to place those inside their negative spaces so you don't have white showing through your eclipsed word or shape).

I added all of the layers to my card including the embossed panel with the Hello cut out of the center.  Next I die cut three more of the Hello words from white cardstock.  I glued and stacked all of my Hello words together with the embossed piece on top.  Sometimes I like to offset the top piece just a bit so that there is a tiny bit of the color from the bottom layers that shows around the outside in some places to help the word stand out just a bit.  Then I glued the stacked word into the negative space and added the little center bits that I saved (center of the O, etc).  I also added a thin layer of Glossy Accents to the top of the word... again so that it would stand out just a little bit more.

I included a simple sentiment from the Bushy Tailed stamp set and a few sequins to finish it off.

And there you have it!  A simple Eclipse design with a big impact!  I think it's cool anyway!

I hope you enjoyed your stop!  If I've inspired you and there is something you need to have, you can head on over to the shop here and use this code for a discount on your order!

One stencil, two different techniques!!

Happy 1st of May everyone!! I hope your week is going just as you planned so far and the weather is looking good. We are definitely heading into Winter with our beautiful sunny days and freezing cold nights!

This is my first 'Girl Friday' post for this month and I have two cards to share with you, both using the same stencil but in different ways:

I've been sick with the flu the past few weeks and even though I didn't feel like making many cards, I spent a lot of time watching YouTube videos of my favourite crafters. One of them is Yana Smakula. Her cards are always incredible and she has so many amazing ideas. I watched this video of hers HERE  where she showed 5 different ways to use a stencil. I desperately wanted to try some of them out and these cards are what I came up with!!

Each card uses the Tin Roof Stencil, as well as one of the Sweet Friend Fri-dies. The sentiments are from the Bushy Tailed and Sassy Smiles stamp sets. To find out what techniques I used and how I put these cards together, pop over to my blog for all the details.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you back here later this month with some more card ideas!!

Take care

One stencil- two ways

Hello my dear crafty friends! Welcome to my new April post made for CAS- ual Fridays blog.
Irit is here today and this time I am going to show a card made with one single new and just released stencil that was used in two different ways as the background and then on the main heart shaped image.

I used this lovely Bold Trellis stencil with two different mediums and as you see it looks totally different.
The background is made with Gel medium over the stencil that was positioned over white cardstock
Then the dry image was covered with a mist of Distress inks and wiped with a baby wipe to leave the white images that are glossy.

The inside heart was die cut from the stencilled black cardstock.
This time I used red glitter paste and the look is very glittery.

The sentiment was stamped over white cardstock and glued over the inked smaller heart.

This is the stencil used twice to make this card:

And the stamp set used :

I hope that you like my used of one single stencil and as you can see this is an easy way to make lovely card with minimum effort if you have our lovely CAS- ual Fridays products.
So here is my own discount for you to use in CAS- ual Fridays shop.
Go for it! And see you in a couple of weeks with a new card and a tutorial.

So Glad We're Friends!!

Its nearly the weekend!! Well, its actually very early Saturday morning for me but for the rest of the world, the weekend is very close indeed! We have a lot going on over the next few days but I'm really hoping I can squeeze in some card making at some stage. I really wish we had a repeat of our first rainy day in 8 weeks last Sunday but the forecast is for sun, sun and more sun for the next two weeks. I find it very hard to craft during the day when its sunny, feel like I should be outside doing something!!

I've got a 'peachy-keen' card to share with you today. I haven't made something with a monochromatic colour scheme for ages. It wasn't intended to be like this but just developed into a love of peachiness. Probably because I have two very large Golden Queen peach trees that are overloaded with fruit and I'm out there all the time looking for my next ripe snack. I've got peaches on the brain:

I couldn't believe how perfectly the 'Heart Board Fri-dies' fitted with the 'Heart to Heart Background Stamp'. I wonder if Michele (the owner of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps) had this in mind when she designed them?? I love that you can make out the metallic shimmer of the Altenew Golden Peach Metallic Embossing Powder around the middle of the die-cut hearts. And speaking of Altenew, their 'Peach Perfect' ink was literally perfect for one of my favourite sentiments from the 'Bushy Tailed' stamp set.To find out how I put this all together, pop over to my blog HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I really hope the weekend arrives for you sooner rather than later!

Take care
Shona

Love Ya - Your Terrific!!!

Hi everyone!! Hope your all having a fantastic weekend so far and your squeezing in some card making time between all your other 'catch-up' jobs!!

I've got a card for you today that has a little colouring, a little die-cutting and a lot of glue-tape. It took me a few days to put together but so happy with the final result:

Talk about a colour and floral explosion!! This month Kathy Racoosin is running her 30 Day Colouring Challenge which she has every few months. If you haven't heard about it before its all about encouraging people to colour each day for as little as 5 minutes and share on social media what your colouring. There are some incredible colorists out there and I'm so inspired by their projects. I haven't had much time to join in this month but this card took me 4 days to colour, so it was wonderful to finally take part!

To start off I stamped the Full on Floral stamp set using Gina K Black Amalgam ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock. I then used the Bubble Box Fri-dies to cut increasingly smaller shapes from the stamped panel.

Using my Altenew Artist Markers I coloured in each shape, not worrying about blending etc, just enjoying myself and leaving spots of white to create some highlights. I glued the largest one on to a panel of white CS and then used the same dies to cut shapes to inlay into the blue, purple and yellow pieces.

This way when they were on top of each other they had some height and dimension to differentiate between each colour.

I die-cut the Love-Ya Fri-die 3x from black cardstock, glued them together and then to the card. I also white heat embossed a sentiment from the Bushy Tailed stamp set on a strip of black cardstock and glued in place.

All I had to do then was use my Spectrum Noir Shimmer Pen on the die-cut words and then cover with lots of Glossy Accents. I then used Gina K Connect Glue to add some Neat and Tangled sequins. Definitely a great card to send to a friend!!

I hope you like my 'psychedelic' card and its given you some ideas for your background stamps and nesting dies. If you decided to purchase any of the products I used today or any others from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps don't forget to use my special code to save yourself some money!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and one of the other Girl Fridays will be here tomorrow to wow you with her inspirational project!! Enjoy your weekend!

Take care
