Thinking of You

Hi everybody! I can't believe its October, in the blink of an eye it will be Christmas!! I'm so not prepared and have so much to do, better start getting myself organised!!

I've popped in today to share a card with you in one of my all-time favourite colour combos:

I've always loved light blue and white, reminds me of Tiffany's and that I will never get to shop there but there is always hope!!

This was a little time consuming to put together but other than that, its a pretty simple card. There was a lot of die-cutting with the 4 Petals Fri-dies, a bit of Distress Oxide ink blending and some heat embossing of the sentiment from Peaceful Garden.  If you pop over to my blog you can get all the details on how this came together.

Thank you with Foxy

Hi everyone, hope your all having a fantastic week and you've had a chance to do some crafting. I've got a card for you today along with a tutorial with LOTS of photos, so get comfy, grab a drink and lets go!!

 

This is the card I created for you today using the Foxy stamp set and Bubble Box Fri-dies. It looks plain and muted until you tip it towards the light:

This is where the shine comes in from the vellum. I was actually trying out a new embossing powder at the same time as making this card and the shimmer was so good, it completely changed my card design......love it when that happens!!

To start off I stamped the fox image on Strathmore Bristol Smooth CS using VersaFine Claire pigment ink in 'Morning Mist'. I also heat embossed the same fox image on vellum using Hero Arts 'White Satin Pearl' embossing powder. I didn't want too much colour on the fox image, so only used three colours of Zig Real Color Brush Pens. I was really surprised that the ink didn't bleed at all, its fantastic for watercolouring!!

Once the painting was dry I cut a panel of grey CS the same size as my card base and die-cut the Bubble Box Fri-die from the middle of it. This photo also shows you what the VersaFine ink looks like.

Using a tiny amount of Gina K Connect Glue I glued the vellum piece directly over top of the image, making sure it lined up perfectly. I only glued around the outside edge as didn't want the vellum to pucker with the liquid glue.

I adhered the grey panel over top and then glued to the card base. Isn't the pearlescent shine just incredible!!

 

All I had to do then was heat emboss the 'thank you' (from the same Foxy set) in silver on a strip of the same grey CS, pop it up on foam tape and glue on some sequins from Neat and Tangled.

Autumn Greetings

Hi there everybody!! Spring has just started here in New Zealand but I know on the other-side of the world Autumn is about to begin. Its such a beautiful time of year, with all the leaves changing and the days being a little cooler but still sunny. So I created a card today for all of you on the 'other-side':

I thought it would be nice to mix one of the brand new stamps and a much older set, to show that some stamps are never too old to be used!!

I pencil coloured the 'Fox' from the 'Bushy Tailed' stamp set and die-cut with the 'Fox Banner Fri-dies'. And I created an Autumnal background for him using the 'Autumn Blessings' stamp set. To find out exactly how I put this all together, pop over to my blog Twine Around for a full run-down.

Unleash Your Inner Sparkle!!

Hi everyone!! Thanks so much for stopping by the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog today. I hope your weeks going really well and you've managed to squeeze in some crafting time somewhere!!

I've got a card to share with you today using the new Be A Unicorn stamp set and Unicorn Fri-die: 

 

I love this unicorn so much, its so beautifully drawn and the die cuts it out just right!!

I started off by stamping the unicorn 3x with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on some Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock. I then used my Altenew Artist Markers to colour them all in. Once I had finished I cut them out with the matching die and added foam tape to the back of them.

To create a bit of sparkle on my card I simply cut a strip of silver glitter paper and adhered to the card front with the unicorns popped on top. The sentiment from the same set was heat embossed in silver, fussy cut out and put on a double layer of foam tape so it sat above the unicorns. I also glued on some co-ordinating sequins from Neat and Tangled. And to carry on the 'sparkle' theme I smothered the unicorns with my Wink of Stella pen for lots and lots of shimmer and sparkle in real life!!

Somebunny told me...... Birthday card!!

Hi there everybody!! Hope your all having a fabulous week and bet your looking forward to the weekend arriving any day now!!

I have a card for you today that includes some masking, which is something I don't do very often because I'm not very good at it. However, I've heard somewhere that 'practice makes perfect', so I better get practicing: 

 

This was pretty simple to put together. I basically stamped the bunny from the Somebunny  set on the card front, created a mask from masking paper and stamped the Full On Floral Background Stamp over top. A quick bit of pencil colour and voila, a birthday card is done! For a full run-down on how I put this card together, pop over to my  blog.
