Rainbow Unicorns x2!

Hi there, everyone!   Kimberly here today to share a fun way to easily create two cards using one technique. Let's break out the stamps & dies!

To create the card you see above as well as the card using the negative die cut image, I began by creating the ink blended background.   I used a rainbow of Distress Ink colors in this example.   

Next  I used the Full on Floral stamp to stamp on top of the ink blended background with Versafine Black Onyx ink.  

Since I wanted to use the negative image, I made sure to cut the unicorn fri-die from the center of the ink blended background - and be sure to save those extra tiny pieces you see in the photo below - you will need them!

Now that all of the elements are ready, you can start putting the cards together.   Here,  I simply stamped the sentiment and added the unicorn to the card with foam tape.   A thin black strip with some twine finishes this one off.

For this next card, I die cut another unicorn from glittery paper and adhered both pieces to a strip of black card stock.   Be sure to add in those tiny pieces (see below) with a strong adhesive.  

 A heat embossed sentiment finishes up this card!  I love the glittery paper - perfect for a unicorn.

So Glad We're Friends!

Hi there!   Kimberly here today on the CAS-ual Fridays blog with a simple card featuring a few of the adorable new release stamps & dies as well as an old favorite!

I started by die cutting the Bubble Box Fri-die from white cardstock and stamping the dog with black ink.   I added some paw prints with pink ink and a heart right at the bottom.    Next I die cut and stamped a banner from the Fox Banner Fri-Dies and adhered this with foam tape. The size of the banner is absolutely perfect - it looks like it was made to go with the Bubble Box, don't you think?!   The final step for this card was to add a bit of glitter to the heart and a squeeze of Glossy Accents to the heart and the pup's eyes & nose for some shine.

Magical Glittery Unicorn

Hi there everyone!  Kimberly here today to share a card using the beautiful new Be a Unicorn stamp set and coordinating Unicorn Fri-Die!

This stamp set is wonderful in that it is a bit more "grown up" than some other unicorn images - perfect for cards going to adults!   But....it can also work for kids, as I've shown today!   To give it a younger vibe, I used some castle patterned paper from Doodlebug and glitter.....lots of glitter!

I stamped the unicorn image with Catherine Pooler Be Mine ink, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  After I die cut the image with the coordinating die,  I added glitter details with several colors of Stickles and set it aside to dry.   I added the patterned paper to my card base and a strip of coordinating solid light blue cardstock.   I stamped the sentiment (also from Be a Unicorn) with CP Pixie Dust ink.   Once the unicorn die cut was dry, I added it to the card with foam adhesive.

WTF (In 3-D!)

Hello there!   Kimberly here today with a really fun (and slightly snarky) birthday card to share with you!   I've used the very clever WTF 2 stamp set for this card.   I started by repeatedly stamping the large WTF with purple shades from Catherine Pooler's ink line.    I overlapped the words so they have a kind of 3D effect.    

For the focal piece, I stamped the large WTF once again and fussy cut it out.   I added color with the same CP inks and an ink blending tool.   To get that awesome shiny, glittery finish I covered the entire piece with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with glitter embossing powder.   I adhered this piece right over top of one of the stamped images with foam tape.

Little Birdie With Copics & Colored Pencil

Hi guys!   It's Kimberly here on the CFS blog today with a super tweet birthday card to share with you!  

I stamped the branch from Calm & Loving on kraft cardstock, masking a few of the small branches before inking it up.   Next I masked off the top and bottom bird from Little Birdies, inked it up then stamped the middle bird directly on the branch.   I colored the sweet little birdie with both Copic markers and a white Prismacolor pencil and added a few details with a white gel pen.   I heat embossed the sentiment in white to finish off the card.   I love coloring on kraft paper - it's such a fun departure from coloring on white, don't you think?!

Celebrate!

Happy Hump Day, crafty friends!   Kimberly here today with a quick CAS card perfect for a birthday or any happy occasion!

I've used the new Celebrate stamp set and Jumping Jacks Fri-Dies to create my fun card.   I started by stamping the sentiment right in the center of a piece of 4 x 5.25 white cardstock.   Next, I used the Jumping Jacks Fri-dies to die cut those fun shapes all around the sentiment.   I adhered this panel with foam tape to a piece of patterned paper.   I really like the look of depth you get from using the foam tape here!  I die cut a few additional shapes directly from some of the extra patterned paper and adhered those with foam tape on top of the white cardstock.   It's like an explosion of happy confetti!
