Breast Cancer Awareness Month ~ Thinking of You Card!!

HELLO CRAFTY FRIENDS!! 

 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to help send some Encouragement for a Friend I've made this CHERRFUL Rainbow Card!! I've used the Love Ribbon Stencil, which makes the design so EASY, but also VERSATILE as there are SO MANY POSSIBILITIES on not just Colors, but Mediums you can use!!

Here's a look at the Card that I've created for today!! 
RAINBOW ANYTHING is SURE to BRIGHTEN someone's Day!! 

I Die Cut my A2 Card Base from White Cardstock and then Die Cut a NND Scalloped Frame from some Doodlebug Design Patterned Paper in a Bright Pink!! Then I Die Cut a Stitched Card Panel from more white Cardstock!! 

I wanted to create a Rainbow Stenciled Love Ribbon!! I Started by spraying the back side of the Stencil with Pixie Spray and then I adhered it over my Card Panel!! I the used Distress Oxide Ink ink Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet using Ink Daubers!! I made sure to blend each of the colors into each other for a smooth transition!! Then I added some Black Soot Distress Paint Splatters for some Texture!! 

Then I Stamped and Embossed the Sentiment from the Terrific Flowers Stamp Set and added a Few Iridescent Jewels for some Sparkle!! I adhered the Card Panel onto a Scalloped NND Frames and Flags Die Cut from some Doodlebug Patterned Paper and then used Foam Tape to adhered it to my A2 Cardbase!! I LOVE the way it turned out!!

Breathe - We'll Get Through This Together!

Welcome back!  It's October and Breast Cancer Awareness month and also CAS-ual Friday Stamps birthday month!  We'll be sharing cards of hope and birthday wishes this month and I'm starting with this one... a card to let a friend know you're there for them.

I started by adding some pink clouds to a white cardstock panel using the Partly Cloudy stencil.

When the panel was filled up with clouds, I splattered some water and soaked up the extra water and then splattered some gold color shine over the top.  I layered the cloudy panel onto a pink base and then layered the two onto a white base.

Then I added some Glitz Glitter Gel through the Love Ribbon Stencil onto pink cardstock and when it was dry, I fussy cut it out.

I layered the ribbon onto the cloudy panel with foam tape and then cut the Breathe from white glitter paper using the Just Breathe die set and then twice more from white cardstock; stacked them together and popped them up over the ribbon.

Finally I stamped the sentiment from the Heart Ribbon Stamp set onto pink cardstock with Versamark and heat embossed it with White embossing powder.  A few sequins and done!

Breast Cancer Awareness - My Story!

Hi everyone, it’s Michelle here today sharing a card I made for Breast Cancer Awareness month!

I am living proof of the importance of regular breast checks!  In October 2019 I got the news that threw me for six.  I had my regular mammogram which I was two months late having as I had been away and just put it off until after my holiday.  They found something that hadn’t been there in previous mammograms and called me back in to investigate. This certainly saved my life and long story short it was early stage but the very aggressive type.  I spent the next 9 months having treatment and so far so good!  Sadly I lost my sister to breast cancer in 2004 hence the regular mammograms.

I hope my story encourages you to have regular checks.

Early detection is the key and can save your life!

Now on to my card!  I used the Love Ribbon stencil with Catherine Pooler inks.  While the stencil was still in place I added some glitter paste which gave the little hearts some dimension and sparkle.

I die cut the “Just Breathe”  in white and black card stock and adhered them together to give that shadow effect.  I then adhered to the stenciled piece using liquid adhesive.

A Rainbow of Hearts

Nora here from A Creative Touch with a fun way to use a cover plate die.

Cover Plate Die: Hearts A2 Panel Fri-die

Stencil: Love Ribbon Stencil

Stamps: Love Notes 

Step 1

My first step was to take a white, A2, top folding note card and trace the cover plate onto the 

card front.

Step 2

My next step was to stencil the Love Ribbon Stencil onto the card front with Distress Ink. Make sure to erase all the pencil lines when done stenciling.

Step 3

Using the Heart A2 Cover Plate Fri-die, I die cut a layer of foam and a layer out of white cardstock.

Step 4

Using Copic markers, I colored in various sized heart die cuts using the rainbow as my inspiration. 

Step 5

I then adhered the white cardstock die cut over the stenciled background

Step 6

Next I glued the white foam into inside each of the hearts.

Step 7

I adhered the the rainbow colored hearts over the top of the foam. If you look closely, I was able to use the same color on three of each heart. So there are three red hearts, three orange hearts etc...

Step 8

I stamped the XOXO sentiment from the Love Notes stamp set onto the largest heart on the 

card front.

Step 9

My last step was to use an Aqua Shimmer Pen and go over each of the hearts to give them a bit of sparkle and shine. 

This card took a little time but was so relaxing to create. I hope this inspires you to use your cover dies in a unique and creative way.

We'll Get Through This Together

I hope everyone's doing well.   Maria here with you on the blog today.  I've been enjoying creating some rainbow-themed cards lately and I have another one for you today.

To begin, I used the Love Ribbon stencil inked up an A2-size black card panel with some white pigment ink.  I waited for about half an hour until the ink was dry.    

I used my mini ink blending tools to add color on top of the white ink using distress oxide inks in rainbow colors. 

I used my Glitz Glitter Gel and stencil pal to add more texture and interest to the image.  I waited for another half an hour until the gel was completely dry.

I stamped the sentiment from the Heart ribbon stamp set using Versamark ink and sprinkled some white embossing powder, then heat-set using my heating tool.

To finish my design, I die-cut the word "hope" twice using some gray and white card stock.  I glued both pieces together to create dimension and adhered it onto the card panel with some liquid glue.

I love that the colors really popped against the black background!  Here's another look:

What Would I do Without You?

Hello everyone!! Nora here from A Creative Touch with a fun card using masking and stenciling to create a striped background.

To start my card, I used a white panel that was cut to 4" by 5 1/4" and created some different colored stripes. The stripes were made by masking off areas of my cardstock with thin masking tape. I then blended different blue inks between the taped off areas.

To give the stripes more of a kick, I then used the new Love Ribbon Stencil and the same colored ink as the stripes to stencil on some hearts.

I adhered the finished panel to a blue A2, top folding card base. 

I then die cut the "friend" out of navy blue cardstock using the Sweet Friend Fri-dies. I adhered the die cut on the card front, as shown, and covered it with an Aqua Shimmer pen and Glossy Accents. I use this technique on my cards a lot as it gives the look of dimension without the bulk.

Next I stamped the sentiment in navy blue on a white cardstock strip using the new Terrific Flowers stamp set.  I used foam adhesive to adhere the sentiment strip under the die cut and the 

card was complete.
