Two for one!

Hello, it's Michelle here today sharing two cards I made using the one background piece.

I white heat embossed the Flowery Background Stamp onto a piece of watercolor card stock and got my Karin Brush markers out.  I love the vibrancy of these watercolor markers.  When it was dry I die cut it with a rectangle die.  I wanted it a bit smaller so I die cut it again with a smaller rectangle.  I was left with a frame so I used that as well on another card!
I adhered my background piece onto a top folding card base with some foam tape and added the "Hello" die cut from the Sweet Friends Dies.

For my next card I added some foam tape to the frame and stamped and colored some of the flowers from the Flower Duo set and adhered them onto the frame.  I added the Happy Birthday sentiments from the Love Notes Stamp set.

Thinking of You

Hi All - it's Vicki here today from All I Do Is Stamp.  Today I am making a technique card for a friend of mine.  Sometimes a Thinking of You card just works!

For my card today, I used a technique first introduced by Yana Smakula, and then, by Jennifer McGuire.  I have tried this technique in the past, and really liked it.  JM just reminded me of it!

The technique? Bold Background Coloring.  I started by stamping the images from the Flower Duo Stamp Set, and then sponging/blending on colors over the top.  Once that was done, I filled in the background with a Black Copic.

I love how the sponged images pop against the bold background.  I went on to cut out the Friend from the Sweet Friend Dies.  Because this die does not have a "background", I used my Scan & Cut to make one.  This worked rather well [I think].  I added a sentiment from the same stamp set, layered it 3 times, and adhered it to my card.  Yep, I think my friend is going to love this card.

Have you tried this technique?  It's really easy, and does end up with a lovely end result!

I'll see you next month with another CFS Day.  Meanwhile, don't forget, you can use my code to save 15% off your purchase, and that does include the Sale items!

Hello Friend Part 2!

Welcome back!  Today I'm using the 2nd foiled background that I created when I made the one from last time.  You can see that post here if you'd like!  And here's how I made the two backgrounds in case you missed it last time:

Both so different and I love both of them!

The lines from the Flowery Background are pretty fine and when I used the negative sheet on this already colorful background, it was hard to see the flowers, so I decided to heat emboss it in silver.  I didn't try to get a solid impression to stay with a more distressed look.

And I used the pinked circle from the Pinked Slimline set again along with a sentiment using a stamped image and the Friend word die from the Sweet Friend Dies.

That's me for today!  Hope you enjoyed it and come again soon!

Hello - an old Alcohol Ink favorite!

Hello! It’s Michelle here today with a card I made back in 2019!! What!!

I’ll be totally honest, I have been so busy over the last few weeks that today crept up on me and I didn’t have a card ready for today's post.  So I had a brain wave!  Considering it’s late at night here in Australia and dark I thought I would go back in my archives and choose a favorite card that I haven’t shared here on the blog. So here we go!

I’ve used the Hello die from the Sweet Friends die set.  I love this clean and simple card I made using a piece of alcohol ink scrap.  I die cut the hello and adhered it to a piece of card stock that I had smooshed some Catherine Pooler ink onto. I do remember I had so much fun creating this card so maybe I will recreate it in a different color.  The little bit of gold foil on the bottom of the hello was achieved by rubbing some foil onto the alcohol ink while it still had some wet sticky spots.

I hope I have inspired you to pull out some old supplies from your stash (or purchase something you may not already have) and have a play.

Sweet Friend

Hi All, Vicki here from All I Do Is Stamp. Since the Heart day is tomorrow, I made a "semi" Valentine for today.

The sentiment works, the colors, semi. ;)  I still like the card, and I still mailed it off.

I started with a blended sponge background, and using Versafine Black Ink, I stamped the Flowery Background image.  I love the look of the black ink with the pretty background colors.

I went on to cut out the Sweet Friend Dies 3 times and glued them together.  Then, using a sentiment from Hello Stamp Set, I white heat embossed it, and cut a strip for underneath of the die cuts.

That's it for me today.  I hope you enjoyed my card.

Water coloring with Flowery Background

Hello, it's Michelle here today with a card I made using the new Flowery Background stamp.
How beautiful is this stamp!!
I white heat embossed the image on some watercolor card stock and pulled out my Karin Pro Markers.
I used four different color blues and scribbled them all over then took to it with a water brush and blended the color out.  Then I added some more color directly from the marker to the centers while it was still wet.  I trimmed the panel down slightly using a rectangle die and adhered it to a top folding card base with some dimensional foam tape.  I die cut 3 "hello's" from white card stock and adhered them together using liquid glue.

A card with no Stamping!

Hello, it's Michelle here today with a CAS card I made with no stamping!

I didn't do it on purpose and only realised when I had finished that there was not a single stamp used!
Although the little die cut flowers came from the Sassy Smiles Duo stamp set so maybe that counts.

I started by masking off a strip on the bottom of a card panel and ink blended Suede Shoes and All That Jazz Catherine Pooler inks.

Then I placed the Flowerburst stencil over the top of the inked area and used the same color inks.

I die cut the "Hello" from the Sweet Friend dies 3 times and adhered them together with liquid glue.
I die cut 3 of the tiny flowers from the Sassy Smiles Duo.
Then I added some foam tape to the card panel and adhered it to a top folding card base.

Thanks for visiting and I hope I have inspired you to get inky!
