Rainbow Pet Sympathy Card

Happy Tuesday everyone!! Nora here from A Creative Touch with a simple pet sympathy card created with a rainbow of colors. It was a frigid weekend here in the Northeast and a little rainbow was in order!

I started off this card by masking off the center of an A2, white card panel with the large pinked circle from the Pinked Slimline dies. I then blended a rainbow of inks over the panel with the Bubbly Stencil

My next step was to stamp a sympathy sentiment from the Rainbow Bridge stamp set using Midnight Black Ink. I die cut the panel with a rectangle and layered it over a red, A2, top folding card base.

I originally was going to make the panel a one layer panel by stamping a heart over the masked center but decided to kick it up a notch. I used the Pinked Slimline dies to die cut the large pinked circle out of white cardstock and adhered it over my masked area using foam adhesive.

I then stamped the heart from Rainbow Bridge in red on a white paper scrap. I fussy cut the heart out-and let me tell you, this WAS NOT my favorite part. I am really not one of those people that is great at fussy cutting!

I adhered the heart in the center of the pinked circle using foam adhesive and my card was complete.

I hope you like this card and it inspires you to create your own rainbow creation to brighten a gray, winter day. Below are the products I used for my project.

Rainbow Bridge

Have you ever made a pet sympathy card for someone else and felt sad because you remember your own childhood pets?  That's what I felt creating this card.

Hello everyone, it's Maria here on the blog with you today sharing this Slimline Pet Sympathy Card, showcasing the Rainbow Bridge stamp set, along with the Pinked Slimline die set.

I started by stamping the images on some Neenah solar white card stock with Versamark ink.  I sprinkled some white embossing powder and heat-set the images with my heating tool.  I fussy-cut the rainbows using my precision snips.

Next, I used some Hybrid inks and my sponge daubers to add color to the rainbows.  I wiped the excess ink using my paper towel.  By doing so, it made the colors stand out against the white embossing.

The background was made by using a clouds stencil from my collection.  I adhered the rainbow die-cuts on top using my tape runner.

The clouds were die-cut using some dies from my collection and adhered on the colored background with liquid glue.

Next, I used the Pinked Slimline die set and die-cut some 110 lb. card stock.  I also created my slimline card base, measuring 8 1/2 by 7 that I folded in half.  I adhered the pinked die-cut with liquid glue, then added the focal panel on top.

I foam-mounted the long clouds on the card and finished my design by stamping the sentiment with black ink.

I hope you like my card today.  Here are the supplies in case you're interested:

Rainbow Bridge Card

I hope you're all doing well and creating a lot of cards and other D.I.Y. projects while on lockdown.  I am honestly so thankful we have this hobby.  This is what keeps me going whilst not being able to travel and see my family.  Let us all pray together that this pandemic goes away so we can all get back to our normal routine.

My project today showcases the Rainbow Bridge stamp set.

To make my card, I stamped the rainbow image on some Bristol smooth white card stock using versamark ink.  I put some white embossing powder and heat-set with my heating tool.

I ink-blended the stamp image with various distress oxide inks in rainbow colors.  Using my precision snips, I fussy-cut the image.  I also die-cut a few elements that I needed to create my scene.

I used a stencil from my stash to create the clouds on a panel of Neenah solar white card stock.  I adhered the rainbow onto the card with liquid glue, and foam-mounted the clouds.

The sentiment was stamped with versamark ink and embossed with my heating tool.  Here's a closer look:

To finish my design, I added the red enamel heart in the middle of the rainbow.  I really LOVE how this card turned out.
