Hello Everyone!!
Nora here with a stylized poppy sympathy card.
Dies: Garden Fri-Dies
I am always looking for different ways to use my stamp sets so before I made this card, I did two things. First I looked through my CAS-ual Fridays stamp sets to see what I could use. I needed a sympathy card and wanted to make some poppy flowers, since they symbolize death.
"Peaceful Garden" had the right shapes for me to create my stylized poppies.
I then sketched out what I wanted the card to look like, indicating what stamp sets I was going to use for each element.
In Step 1, I inked up the solid circle shape in red and spritzed it with water before I stamped each image. This gave the circles a mottled look.
For Step 2, I stamped quartet outline heart in black from "Peaceful Garden" to create the flower centers.
In Step 3, I used the large swirl stamp from the same stamp set, just inking the outside in black to get an outline.
Step 4, 5 and 6-I drew in some stems and stamped the solid leaf in green from the "Peace and Comfort" stamp set.
I masked the sentiment from the same set to stamp my sentiment. Instead of being on one line, I broke it up to stamp on two.
In Steps 7 and 8, I stamped the outline of the leaves in black and used spray mist to drop green and pink drips onto the card front.
I added the white card front onto an A2, red card front. Then I adhered some die cut leaves and a flower with foam adhesive that I had cut out using the "Garden Fri-Dies." My last two steps were to color the flower centers in with a yellow gel pen and adhere a clear gem over the middle of each one.
I encourage you to look at your stamps to see how you can use them in a new way. You never know what you can come up with!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!
Nora
