Happy Friday everyone!! Nora here on the blog with the process behind how I created my latest card. I LOVE to see how other designers come up with their card designs and thought you might like to see mine!! I combined a bunch of different sets and took some photos for you while I made my card.
Fri-Dies Used: Pretty Posies
Step 1 was to create a sketch for my card. I often work from a sketch, whether it is one I create or one that I find off Pinterest. For this card, I went through my stamps and created a sketch indicating what sets I wanted to use and drew the sketch on a sticky note.
Step 2 was to stamp the smallest flowers from the CAS-ual Fridays "Pretty Posies" stamp set with Oxide Distress Ink and then die cut the flower with the coordinating Fri-die. I took a sparkle pen and went over the petals to give them some shine.
For Step 3, I marked off where I wanted the stems to be stamped with a pencil.
In Step 4 I used the tree trunk from the "Calm and Loving" stamp set to stamp a green stem. I masked the branches off with a sticky note and stamped the tree upside down.
Step 5, I stamped the "hill" using a stamp from the "Breathe" stamp set. I then stamped it a second time below without re-inking the stamp. I thought the stamp looked like a little hill and was perfect for underneath the flowers.
Step 6 was to stamp the leaves using the "Peace and Comfort" stamp set. I first stamped the detail leaf in green. Next I inked the full leaf stamp, stamped it onto a scrap paper and then stamped it without inking it up again over the detail stamp. This made the detail on the leaf stand out.
Step 7 was to stamp the sentiment from the "Calm and Loving" stamp set in black ink. I then used some adhesive foam to pop up two of the flowers.
Step 8 was to cut 1/2" off the side of the white card panel and adhere it to an A2 card where I had attached a scrap of polka dot paper. This detail was not on the original sketch but I thought the design needed it.
The last step was to add some Glossy Accents to the middle of the flower.
I thank you for stopping by and for taking a peek at my process. I hope you have a FABULOUS day!!
