Masking for a Rainbow Effect

Hello Everyone!! Girl Friday, Nora here on the blog today with a rainbow thank you card.

I used the CAS-ual Fridays stamp sets Flower Power, Full On Floral, and Peaceful Garden, along with a rainbow of ink pads to create this card.

I started off the card by using regular Scotch tape to mask the letters from the "thank" stamp from Flower Power and stamped each letter in rainbow order. Since there is only five letters in thank, I stamped the "you" sentiment onto a strip of purple paper.

To get just "you," I masked off a sentiment from "Peaceful Garden" and heat embossed the word in white. I set this aside and started on the background.

For the background, I used tape to mask off sections of the card and then stamped with dye ink in rainbow order.

I only partially inked up the Full On Floral stamp carefully for each strip of color and did wind up making a mistake.

I did not clean the stamp off enough and got some orange and red where the purple strip went. Sometimes things like this happen and since it took so much time to mask everything off, I changed how I was going to originally make the card.

Once everything was stamped, I cut down the sentiment panel and placed it so the top was lined up with the top of the A2, stamped card base. I then used foam adhesive to pop up the sentiment strip.

I added a thin strip of black card stock to finish the card off.

This was a really fun card to create and I encourage you to give it a try. Use my code NORASENTME to get 15% off your purchase at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamp Store.

Have a FABULOUS day!!
