Happy 4th of July with Lisa

Hello crafty friends and Happy 4th of July to all of my fellow American crafters!  It's Lisa here with you today and I have always loved 4th of July.  I think it has something to do with the fun parades, a yearly pool party at my parents house, funny patriotic attire, and watching the sky light up at night!  With all of that running through my head I just couldn't shake images of our flag so I decided to just embrace it, and created my own "flag" of sorts...

To create my card I started by stamping the Heart to Heart Background Stamp Set onto a panel of Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I turned my panel onto it's side and colored the hearts in with my Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers in a pattern resembling our national flag.  Once the coloring was done I added a few Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard to the centers of the circles.

To finish my card I adhered my colored panel onto a black cardstock, silver shimmer cardstock, and finally onto my cardbase.  I stamped a sentiment from the Heartfelt Sayings Stamp Set with Versamark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder before trimming it out and propping it up with foam adhesive.

Wishing you a very happy and safe Holiday, and even if you are one of our international friends I hope I've inspired you to maybe color up your background stamp sets in unique patterns or colors.
Happy Crafting!
Lisa
