Creating Simple Shapes to Support a Sentiment

Hi there! Kimberly here today to share a card that came together in a fairly unusual way! I was flipping through all of my awesome CAS-ual Friday stamps and the sentiment "Nothing is impossible with good lipstick and pretty shoes" from Sassy Smiles struck me. I immediately thought of the swishes from Breathe, and the idea for this card was born!

CAS-ual Fridays Supplies Used:

Seeing the sentiment about the lipstick prompted me to create my own tube - this was super easy. I just googled lipstick tube and freehand drew the three pieces necessary - the black part of the tube, the gold part of the tube, and of course - the red lipstick. I adhered these simple pieces together and added a bit of detail with a white gel pen. I added the lipstick to a small panel and set it aside.

Next I grabbed that fun swish stamp and stamped it with several shades of pink and red, being sure to go off the page in several areas to get the effect of lipstick smears!

The final step was to stamp and emboss those fun sentiments. I wanted to emboss for a bold black look, with none of the color from the lipstick smears showing through.

So there you have it! Simple shapes combined with stamps or sentiments in your stash are always an option! This was super easy to draw and cut out, and the effect is so fun!

Have a fantastic start to your week, and I'll see you again soon!!
