Best Day Ever!!

Hi everybody!! Thanks for joining me today for my second 'Girl Friday' post for the month of July! Today I have a fun and simple card with lots of pastel 'rainbow' colours to brighten your day:

This took a bit of time to stamp but setting myself, my inks and my MISTI up in front of the tv mean't the time just whizzed by.....

To start off I grabbed my favourite pastel colour ink pads by Waffle Flower and the solid roundish stamp from Peaceful Garden.  I started off by randomly stamping the image over a panel of white CS, double stamping each time for good coverage. I then started stamping over top to cover up the gaps but this time only stamping once. Then, to add a bit of shine, I heat embossed the same image in gold.

Once I had finished stamping, I die-cut the Best Day Fri-die  from the panel, and also twice more from black CS. I glued the black ones together and then the coloured ones on top but slightly off centre to expose some of the black.

I added a piece of white CS behind the die-cut opening to give me somewhere to inlay the words. You can see how the black showing underneath makes the words stand out a bit more against all the colour.

All I had to do then was trim the panel down so it was slightly smaller than the card base, pop it up on a piece of white foam and glue on some sequins from Neat and Tangled. I also used my Wink of Stella on the words and then covered them with lashings of Glossy Accents.

I hope this card gave you some ideas on how to use your stamps other than how they were intended. And if your planning on doing any shopping at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps in the near future, don't forget to use my special code to save yourself some money!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you back here again very soon!!

Take care
Shona

  2. Aaaaah, my eyes...all that glorious color and gold to set it off. Topping it off with a terrific sentiment treatment is just the right touch. Gorgeous, Shona.
