Using Dies to Add Embossed Details!

Hey there, crafty friends!   Kimberly here today to share a card made COMPLETELY with die cuts - that's right - no stamps at all!   Let me show you how I added some interest to one of my die cuts with embossed details using - you guessed it!   More dies from my CFS collection!

To create the cool embossed images on the coffee cup, I started by embossing the leaf dies from the new Garden Fri-Dies with my Big Shot.   The sandwich for this particular die cutting machine is the  Multipurpose Platform (opened to tab 1), cutting plate, dies to be embossed, paper, silicone mat, impression pad.   In this picture, I'm showing how I placed the dies where I wanted them to emboss and adhered them with a little removable tape.   When you run this through your machine, however, you will want to flip the paper/dies over with the cutting side UP and continue to make the sandwich!

I cut the Coffee Cup Fri-Die from my embossed paper and added some pink Distress Ink to the edges.   I used the Best Day Fri-Die, cut from both white and red cardstock.   I love the look of layering word dies - they just POP!

The pretty flowers are also from Garden Fri-Dies!   I just love how this card came together with no stamps at all, and yet there is still a lot of detail with the layering of the sentiment, the embossing of the coffee mug and those fun layered floral dies!

Thanks so much for stopping by the CAS-ual Fridays blog today!   Here's a special coupon code if you want to head over to the CFS shop - you'll save 15%!  Have a great day!
