Stretching Your Stamps-A Simple One Layer Card

Happy Friday!! It is Nora here with a step-by-step for a quick one layer card. One thing I always do when I buy a stamp set is to see how I can stretch my stamps. For my simple card, I used the flower base from the Peace and Comfort stamp set and the Peaceful Garden set to make polka dots on the card I created.

I started off by using the larger flower base from Peaceful Garden to stamp trio of orange polka dots.

Then I used the smaller flower base from Peace and Comfort to stamp green polka dots.

I then came back and used second generation stamping with the orange to create a lighter version of the large polka dot. This is a great way to stretch your inks too!!

When I came to this step, I thought the space needed something else so I  did second generation stamping for the smaller polka dots in green, as well as stamped some little images from Celebrate in a darker orange color.

I used the Celebrate stamp set again to stamp the sentiment in a darker orange.

One thing I tend to do on one layer cards to make the sentiment pop a bit more is to use a sparkle marker over it to give it some shine.

I then cover it with Glossy Accents to give it a bit of dimension.

My last steps were to add a bit of fiber at the top in orange and adhere sequins that matched the green color in the polka dots randomly around the card.

This would be a really easy card to mass produce in many colors to have in your stash.

I thank you for stopping by the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog today. I hope this gives you a little inspiration to look at your stamps a little differently then how they were meant to be used.
