Lisa is joined by guest designer Virginia Lu!

Here's a fun idea, right! We have lots of fantastic inspiration in store for you over the next couple of months! Each of the Girl Fridays has invited the designer of their choice to join them here for a special guest design post. Together they've chosen a set to work with and a design directive and then we let their creative mojos take over! The best part is we get to see the fabulous results!

Today, our Lisa has invited the fabulous Virginia Lu! Virginia is one of the original Girl Fridays from 2010. She graced our challenge and company blog for 5 awesome years,  and I am so thrilled to have her come back to join us for this! We love you Virginia!!
Lisa and Virginia have chosen to work with sets from our Love Collection, Floating and Puffy Heart Love stamp sets and decided to use the Emboss Resist Technique as their design idea.
What is the Emboss Resist Technique you ask??
The goal of this technique is to emboss sentiments or images onto a light colored cardstock-usually white works best- then apply ink over and around the embossing to make it stand out. The ink won't stick to the embossed portions so you are able to get some really stunning looks!
So here we go! 2 designers, same product, same design idea...let's see what happens!

Lisa used the little hearts from Puffy Heart Love to float over her lovely background and then added a sweet sentiment and that gorgeous balloon from Floating to emboss onto that same background. I really like how she stamped the balloon off the edge of the card front so it looks like it's floating into her scene! I love the pretty ink colors she chose to create that lovely sky!

Virginia made Puffy Heart Love the star of her show! She embossed a few of the big scripty sentiments all over her panel to create a really fun and romantic statement. The strip of glitter paper at the bottom and the sequins add a dazzling finish to this gorgeous card!

Visit Lisa and Virginia's blogs to see more about how their cards came to be and be sure to leave them a little love. Lisa has a special coupon code for you that you can use on any of the products in our shop so be sure to grab that when you visit her!

If you'd like to learn more about this neato technique, I found this easy to follow tutorial from Michele Boyer.

We hope you had fun with us today! For more fun, come play with us at one of our challenges!
There are no product restrictions so you can use whatever you have in your stash, and you can design in any style. Both have fun themes to fire up your mojo and both offer great prizes to the winners!
